Courtroom advocacy
Legal Professional · Lawyer
“Courtroom advocacy” (Legal Professional) is projected to see AI enter in 2035 and be largely replaced by 2045+.
What this task is
Lawyers represent clients in court: presenting and challenging evidence, cross-examining witnesses, arguing the case and answering the judge's questions in order to secure the most favorable ruling possible.
How AI replaces it
The right to appear in court is restricted by bar licensing, and procedure requires a qualified person to answer for what is said. Even if AI begins assisting in real time around 2035, replacing courtroom lawyers before 2045 is unlikely.
What stays human
Lawyers will keep arguing in court, using AI to pull up evidence and law instantly and anticipate opposing arguments, while focusing on persuasion and thinking on their feet.
