AI writing feedback
What this task is
Language tutors mark students' essays, pointing out problems with grammar, word choice, sentence variety and overall structure, then suggest specific revisions and assign a score.
How AI replaces it
AI writing-feedback tools correct sentences, assess structure and argument, and offer rewrite examples, improving markedly once large language models arrived. They spread from 2020, and by 2025 routine essay correction was largely done by AI.
What stays human
Tutors concentrate on depth of ideas and personal voice, coach students on how to think through a piece, and give final review for high-stakes exam writing.
